This camp gave me a clearer picture of how complex and interconnected the global food supply chain really is. Working through real examples showed me that challenges like food security and sustainability can’t be solved from just one perspective.
I really saw the value of interdisciplinary thinking, especially when engineering, science, and social factors come together. The experience pushed me to think more practically about real-world constraints. Overall, the camp shaped how I now approach complex problems and reinforced my interest in interdisciplinary learning at UNSW.
David & Peers: Captured during the 24th YES! Camp. This session focused on leading youth to think across disciplines about global food security following the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war. Today, these students are excelling at UNSW, the University of Melbourne, and RMIT, carrying forward the interdisciplinary mindset forged during this journey.
